I’m a certified Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and Canadian Counsellor (CCC) providing individual and couples counselling services across British Columbia and Canada. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from the University of Victoria. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Counselling Psychology.
For over a decade, my work has focused on supporting survivors of sexualized and domestic violence, as well as first responders coping with job-related trauma. I also work extensively with individuals living with PTSD and substance use challenges, including those navigating complex trauma. These experiences, combined with my academic training, shape a practice that is trauma-informed, evidence-based, and grounded in compassion.
I strive to create a space that is collaborative, affirming, and attuned to each client’s lived experience- where healing is possible, growth is supported, and people feel genuinely seen and heard.

Kendall McSweeney (she/her)
Masters of Social Work, Registered Social Worker
I am of (very) mixed settler ancestry on the territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. I am allistic, cis, and queer. I have an MSW from UBC O, a BSW from UBC, and a BA in psych from the University of Michigan.
I have spend the last 5 years working with families and youth seeking gender affirming care. I have also worked with Autistic adults in mental wellness, dating support, and teaching sexual health. Previously to this, I have experience in hospital and community settings with working closely with death and dying, those recovering and finding a new normal after life changing injury and illness.
There is so much advice out there as to how to live life– dating advice, friend advice, health advice, life advice– it can be so hard to find a way forward. And to make it worse, a lot of that advice can creep out from the depths of scary parts of the internet. I want to help you find a path away from all those messages and towards your unique version of joy. I want to make the world a kinder place, one conversation at a time.
I have a particular interest in helping folks explore gender transition and detransition from a gender affirming lens, working from a neuro affirming lens to support being one’s full self in the world, supporting parents of LGBTQ kids who may be processing grief and learning to support their kids, and supporting individuals building friendships and connection.
In my personal time you may find me reading (veraciously), buying (too many) earrings at local markets, or dancing (badly).
